The International Association for Great Lakes Research (IAGLR) offers this travel award to help master’s and Ph.D. students and postdoctoral fellows from outside the United States and Canada attend its annual Conference on Great Lakes Research. The award supports conference participation rather than a research project, covering travel and associated needs, accommodations, and meals.
The program advances IAGLR’s goal of broadening its scope to large lakes internationally. It seeks to strengthen relationships with researchers outside the United States and Canada, give international students and recent graduates access to the IAGLR research community, and build capacity and engagement in low- and middle-income countries. Research contributing to the understanding of large lakes is central to the award’s assessment.
