Funder: International Association for Mathematical Geosciences
Due Dates: No application deadline stated
Funding Amounts: Meeting grants up to $5,000; participant travel support normally up to 50% of round-trip cost
Summary: Supports outside meetings and officially appointed participants in IAMG sessions that advance international cooperation in mathematical geology.
Key Information: Participant travel support requires at least one year of IAMG membership and is not general conference-attendance funding.
The International Association for Mathematical Geosciences (IAMG) supports meetings organized by outside organizations that advance its mission: promoting international cooperation in the application and use of mathematics in geological research and technology. Administered by the IAMG Council, the program interprets mathematical geology broadly and covers technical meetings, workshops, symposia, short courses, and sessions within larger meetings. A secondary goal is to increase IAMG’s visibility and attract new members.
The guidelines also cover travel support for speakers, discussants, and other individuals officially appointed by Council to participate in IAMG programs at non-IAMG meetings. These sessions foster connections with related organizations, interdisciplinary research opportunities, and recruitment. This participant support is distinct from general funding to attend a conference.
