Description
The Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities (IASH), in association with the Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Centre for the Study of Islam in the Contemporary World, supports postdoctoral researchers working on contemporary Islam and Muslim culture. Based at the University of Edinburgh, the fellowship provides time and space for individual research while advancing the Centre’s goal of improving understanding of Islam and the globalized Muslim world through research and outreach.
Particular emphasis is placed on the quality and timeliness of proposed research, with innovative and interdisciplinary topics and approaches encouraged. Fellows join a scholarly community offering mentoring, work-in-progress seminars, workshops and colloquia. They collaborate with Alwaleed Centre academic staff and contribute to activities at both the Centre and IASH.
