Description
The Myositis Association (TMA) offers the IBM/IMNM Fellowship to support a clinical and/or research trainee in neuromuscular medicine or related fields. Projects must advance understanding of the cause, prevention, detection, treatment, or cure of inclusion body myositis (IBM) and/or immune-mediated necrotizing myopathy (IMNM).
The fellowship’s scope includes health-related quality of life beyond clinical management: preserving muscle function, managing fatigue and pain, and addressing psychosocial effects. Priority goes to fellows demonstrating a primary clinical, research, and career commitment to IBM or IMNM, and to interdisciplinary projects emphasizing collaboration, including partnerships with patients and care partners. Relevant specialties include adult neurology, neuromuscular medicine, neuromuscular pathology, neurophysiology, and physical medicine and rehabilitation.
