The International Coral Reef Society (ICRS) Science Communication Fellowship supports members at any career stage and in any type of position who want to develop science communication skills. The annual award funds participation in a workshop, course, internship, or equivalent experience, combining training with practical communication work for the Society.
Fellows provide science communication content for ICRS Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X/Twitter, and Bluesky, as well as ICRS2026 media outlets. Each fellow also writes a short article for Reef Encounter, the Society’s publication, and participates as an active member of the ICRS Communications Committee. The fellowship connects the recipient’s chosen training and career goals with contributions to the Society’s publications and media channels.
