Due Dates (Anticipated): July 2027 (Application deadline)
Funding Amounts: US$2,000 per one-year fellowship; three fellowships annually
Summary: Supports full-time master’s-level study and research in electron devices, recognizing research ability and academic excellence.
Key Information: Candidates must be IEEE EDS student members at nomination and accepted into, or in their first year of, a qualifying graduate program.
The IEEE Electron Devices Society (EDS) offers one-year fellowships to promote, recognize, and support graduate master’s-level study and research within its field of interest. The program recognizes significant research ability in electron devices, academic excellence in engineering and/or physics, and involvement in undergraduate research or supervised projects.
EDS’s field of interest encompasses the engineering, physics, theory, experiment, and simulation of electron and ion devices using materials such as semiconductors, insulators, metals, organic materials, plasmas, and quantum-effect materials. Applications include bioelectronics, biomedical devices, computation, communications, displays, imaging, photovoltaics, power, sensors, and signal processing. The Society awards three fellowships annually, intending to recognize at least one eligible student in each of three regions: the Americas, Europe/Mid-East/Africa, and Asia & Pacific.
