The IEEE Electron Devices Society (EDS) offers one-year fellowships to promote, recognize, and support doctoral study and research within its field of interest. The fellowship recognizes students with significant ability to perform independent research in electron devices and a proven history of academic excellence.
Eligible research spans engineering, physics, theory, experiment, and simulation of electron and ion devices involving insulators, metals, organic materials, plasmas, semiconductors, quantum-effect materials, vacuum, and emerging materials. Applications include bioelectronics, biomedical technology, computation, communications, displays, electro- and micromechanics, imaging, microactuators, optics, photovoltaics, power, sensors, and signal processing. EDS expects to award three fellowships annually, intending to recognize at least one eligible student in each of the Americas, Europe/Middle East/Africa, and Asia & Pacific regions.
