Introduced in 2023, the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) Member Support Program provides financial support for members attending and participating in Society-sponsored conferences. It supports authors of accepted papers through reimbursement of eligible travel and accommodation expenses or provision of pre-booked accommodation near the conference venue.
The program was created to share the benefits of the Society’s success with members who have contributed to its mission-related activities. Its emphasis on conference participation supports RAS’s mission to foster the exchange of information and knowledge among robotics and automation researchers and practitioners. That broader mission also includes standards development, career development, education, and public outreach, including outreach to pre-college students.
