Summary: Supports members in documenting sustainable practices and advancing environmentally sustainable robotics and automation.
Key Information: Applicants must be IEEE Robotics and Automation Society members.
The IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) Sustainability Grants support members working to document, share, and advance sustainable practices within the robotics and automation community. Supported work includes best practice guides, technical tutorials, case studies, and accounts of efforts to make scientific events more sustainable. The program aims to make this knowledge accessible so researchers, engineers, and event organizers can adopt more effective and sustainable approaches.
Projects contributing to the design of robotics and automation systems for environmental sustainability are also welcome. These proposals are expected to discuss potential environmental impacts, balancing the negative effects of additional robots or robot use against the positive effects of their application. Projects seeking to democratize robotics should address similar considerations.
