Description
The Institute of Historical Research (IHR), within the University of London’s School of Advanced Study, offers doctoral fellowships for postgraduate students in the writing-up stage of historical research. Supported by the Isobel Thornley Trust and the Royal Historical Society, these completion awards cover history broadly defined, on topics from 300 AD to the present day.
Fellows receive mentorship from the IHR’s Director and staff across the School of Advanced Study, including career advice, mock interviews, and guidance on publications, research grants, jobs and future fellowships. The programme provides access to the Wohl Library, extended electronic resources, seminars and events, free research training courses and tailored workshops. IHR partnerships also offer connections for fellows interested in careers outside academia.
