Description
The IHR Trust Bridging Fellowships are designed to support historians in the UK who have experienced career disruptions, such as redundancy, non-renewal of academic contracts, or recent completion of a PhD, due to widespread cuts and programme closures in academia. The six-month fellowship provides modest financial support, access to the Institute of Historical Research’s resources, mentorship, and an intellectual community, enabling recipients to complete unfinished historical research projects and plan their next career moves. Fellows benefit from training, access to the IHR Library and digital resources, and opportunities for engagement with the wider historical research community.
