The Institute of International Education (IIE) Centennial Fellowship is an annual program established to honor IIE’s centennial and its longstanding partnership with the Fulbright Program. The fellowship recognizes Fulbright alumni whose work exemplifies leadership, mutual understanding, and global problem-solving. For the upcoming cycle, the theme is "Advancing Responsible AI – From Framework to Deployment," focusing on embedding responsible AI principles—such as transparency, accountability, safety, and economic security—throughout the AI lifecycle.
Fellows will undertake action-oriented projects that translate these principles into real-world, scalable technologies. Projects should address challenges in ethical AI deployment, sustainable business models, and system governance, with the aim of producing measurable outcomes that contribute to global stability, human well-being, and democratic values.
