The IIE Centennial Fellowship, administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE), recognizes and supports Fulbright alumni whose work exemplifies the values of mutual understanding, leadership, global problem solving, and global impact. The 2027 cycle centers on "Advancing Responsible AI – From Framework to Deployment," seeking projects that embed transparency, accountability, safety, and economic security across the AI lifecycle. Fellows are expected to design and implement frameworks, deployment strategies, and commercially viable, ethically sound AI solutions that support global stability and human well-being.
The program supports both new and ongoing projects, as long as they are action-oriented and produce tangible outcomes within the one-year fellowship term. The New Leader Award specifically recognizes a recent Fulbright alumnus/a (within 5 years) with an ongoing project aligned to the theme.
