Description
The Institute of International Education’s Scholar Rescue Fund (IIE-SRF) arranges, funds, and supports fellowships for threatened and displaced scholars. Yearlong visiting appointments at partnering higher education institutions allow fellows to continue their academic work in safety. Host institutions may be located anywhere in the world, including within scholars’ home regions.
The program seeks to protect scholars’ lives, voices, and ideas while preserving the knowledge they carry. It builds on IIE’s century-long commitment to providing career- and life-saving support to academics facing threats. IIE-SRF is the only global program devoted to arranging, funding, and supporting these fellowships.
