Description
The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA), through its Law Enforcement and Traffic Safety (LETS) Division, administers this federally funded public education opportunity under IIJA Section 405(g). It supports pedestrian and bicyclist safety campaigns that increase awareness of safety laws, influence driver and pedestrian behavior, and support enforcement and community-based safety efforts across Alabama.
Projects include campaign development, accessible video, audio, digital and print production, and paid media placement across digital platforms, television, radio, outdoor advertising and social media. Campaigns should use culturally competent, evidence-based messaging and crash, demographic and behavioral data to target high-risk areas. Priorities include vulnerable road users, particularly youth, older adults and low-income populations. Selected applicants manage campaign delivery, coordinate with ADECA and stakeholders, monitor performance and evaluate effectiveness.
