    Description

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Energy administers this program using Climate Pollution Reduction Grant Implementation Funds to advance Illinois’s Priority Climate Action Plan. It supports heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, and other necessary residential upgrades that make homes cleaner, healthier, and more energy efficient.

The program complements the Illinois Home Weatherization Assistance Program (IHWAP) and existing state and federal incentives. It targets funding gaps in municipal and cooperative utility service areas, particularly for low-income households whose projects would otherwise stop because of high upfront costs. Through community-based weatherization implementers, the program seeks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve indoor air quality, lower utility bills, and expand access to efficient technologies for residents facing high energy burdens.
