Description
The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), through its Research Foundation, funds relevant, thought-provoking research that advances accounting and financial management knowledge and practice globally. This call particularly encourages research on artificial intelligence in management accounting, while also considering other topics. Its goal is to provide evidence-based guidance that helps management accountants adapt to emerging technologies and lead the profession into the future.
The call defines AI broadly to include generative AI, machine learning, and autonomous agent technologies. Priorities span financial planning and strategic decisions; governance, risk, and ethics; professional competencies and education; and organizational transformation. Basic and applied research are welcome, including analytical, archival, experimental, survey, case study, field, theoretical, and mixed-methods approaches that advance both scholarly understanding and professional practice.
