Description
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Institutes of Health, plans to continue supporting the Immune Drivers of Autoimmune Disease (IDAD) network through this cooperative agreement opportunity. The network studies the earliest steps and triggers leading to autoimmunity and flares in humans, with the long-term aim of preventing autoimmune disease.
Research priorities include pre-clinical immune mechanisms; tools and biomarkers for predicting autoimmunity risk and stage; preclinical cohorts; remote recruitment and sampling; and artificial intelligence and big data. The initiative also includes an Infrastructure Opportunity Fund for collaborative network projects. An IDAD Network Coordinating Center will administer that fund and coordinate activities among awardees.
