NIH seeks a data and coordinating center to support its genomic variation consortium, expand a public data portal and variant-impact catalog, and coordinate research activities; clinical trials are not allowed.
Funder: National Institutes of Health
Due Dates: November 14, 2026 (Earliest submission) | December 14, 2026 (Application deadline)
Funding Amounts: Up to $4 million in direct costs per year for up to 5 years; $6 million estimated program funding
Summary: Supports the IGVF Consortium’s data and coordinating center to develop genomic variant resources, manage data sharing, and coordinate consortium activities and outreach.
Key Information: Clinical trials and foreign subawards/subcontracts are not allowed.
The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) supports a Data and Coordinating Center (DACC) for the second phase of the Impact of Genomic Variation on Function (IGVF) Consortium. The center will expand a comprehensive, searchable catalog of measured and predicted variant impacts and further develop a broadly accessible portal for consortium data, models, methods, software, and other resources.
The DACC will coordinate data submission, quality control, standards, provenance, and processing workflows while organizing consortium activities and leading community outreach. Its resources should support FAIR data sharing, interoperability, and AI-ready computational use. The center will engage users in resource design and work with other programs and consortia. This U24 cooperative agreement involves substantial NIH scientific and programmatic participation and requires collaborative work toward consortium-wide goals.
