Description
PCORI’s Open Competition supports implementation projects that move selected, published, peer-reviewed findings from PCORI-funded comparative clinical effectiveness research and systematic reviews into practical use. Cycle 3 2026 focuses on pediatric obsessive-compulsive disorder, direct hospital admissions for children, early palliative care for advanced cancer, and school-based caries arrest and prevention. This is an implementation opportunity, not a research initiative.
Projects should use active, multicomponent strategies to integrate evidence into routine care, address barriers to uptake, and expand reach across populations and settings. PCORI expects meaningful patient and stakeholder partnerships, leadership and frontline staff commitment, and plans for sustainment and future scale-up. An established conceptual model or framework must guide the project, with rigorous evaluation documenting implementation and its impact on care and outcomes.
