Description
This Horizon Europe grant supports collaborative research and innovation projects that advance system designs for innovative photovoltaic (PV) applications, specifically targeting either agrivoltaics (agriPV) or offshore/nearshore PV systems. The aim is to optimize synergies between PV electricity production and agriculture or to address the technical and societal challenges of deploying PV systems at sea. Projects are expected to contribute to sustainable energy solutions, biodiversity protection, and efficient land or sea use, while reinforcing the European PV value chain and opening new markets.
Key project elements include advanced system modelling, development of new system components and architectures, resilience to climate change, standardization, and large-scale demonstrators (minimum 5 MW across different EU climate/sea zones). Proposals must provide robust exploitation and business plans, address societal acceptance, and involve relevant stakeholders (including social sciences and humanities expertise). The call is part of the European Partnership for Innovation in Photovoltaics (EUPI-PV), and selected projects will be required to report on key performance indicators for partnership monitoring.
