Description
The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) supports studies addressing high-priority methodological gaps in patient-centered comparative clinical effectiveness research (CER). Cycle 1 2027 focuses on patient-centered measurement, real-world data in multi-site research, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and study design and analytic methods. The goal is to improve the strength and quality of evidence available for healthcare decision making.
Supported work may improve the development, evaluation, analysis and interpretation of patient-centered measures; generate generalizable insights into multi-site data collaborations; or improve analysis of electronic health data. PCORI also seeks better study designs and analytic approaches to CER questions. Ethical and human subjects protections remain a cross-cutting interest. Patients and research partners are expected to contribute lived experience or professional expertise so studies are relevant and useful.
