Description
The In-Car Video Camera (ICVC) Grant Program provides financial assistance to South Carolina law enforcement agencies for initial camera purchases and ongoing costs associated with maintaining cameras and storing their recordings. Agencies may apply annually for new cameras, supporting equipment, and yearly maintenance or storage costs.
The program is administered by the Office of Highway Safety and Justice Programs (OHSJP) within the South Carolina Department of Public Safety. Established through Proviso 63.8 of the South Carolina 2021–2022 Appropriation Act, it is overseen by the South Carolina Public Safety Coordinating Council. The council distributes funds fairly and equitably, considering agencies’ DUI enforcement activity and giving priority to agencies that prioritize DUI enforcement.
