Description
The Medieval Academy of America awards this annual research grant to a scholar pursuing innovative work that broadens the scope of medieval studies. Scholars at any career stage may apply, with priority given to students, early-career researchers, and non-tenured applicants.
The program particularly welcomes projects focused on non-European regions or subjects within the Inclusivity and Diversity Committee’s purview, including race, class, disability, gender, religion, and sexuality. These geographic and thematic priorities support the program’s goal of expanding the range of scholarship pursued within medieval studies. Proposals are evaluated by the Academy’s Inclusivity and Diversity Prize Committee in consultation with the Inclusivity and Diversity Committee.
