Description
This Horizon Europe Innovation Action funds projects that enhance the circularity of the bio-based sector by developing and scaling up safe, sustainable, and circular materials, products, processes, and value chains. The focus is on upcycling and recycling bio-based resources, integrating secondary raw materials with minimal quality loss, and maximizing environmental performance. Proposals may address innovative solutions for complex bio-waste streams, market creation for bio-waste materials, fostering industrial symbiosis across urban, rural, and coastal areas, and deploying digital tools to improve accessibility and traceability of bio-based resources. Projects should provide actionable recommendations for strengthening bio-based product value chains, considering regulatory, financial, and educational needs. Collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the integration of social sciences and humanities (SSH) are strongly encouraged to maximize societal impact and knowledge dissemination.
