Takeda Pharmaceuticals supports Independent Medical Education through Global Medical Affairs Oncology. The program funds scientific and educational activities for healthcare professionals, teams, patients, payers, and systems. Its goals are to improve knowledge, enhance skills, support behavior change, close clinical and practice gaps, and improve the quality and delivery of patient care. It also seeks to enable patients to take an active role in their healthcare.
Oncology interests include colorectal cancer, chronic phase chronic myeloid leukemia, lymphoma, Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia, polycythemia vera, and ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer. Priorities span unmet needs, diagnosis, treatment selection and sequencing, efficacy and safety, resistance, adverse event management, and emerging clinical data.
