Description
Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity offers this residency to performance-based artists and collectives who need uninterrupted space to start or advance a project. Dancers, choreographers, theatre-makers, opera artists, and interdisciplinary collaborators can use a private dance or rehearsal studio for choreography, research, playwriting, dramaturgy, development, or hybrid work. Artists shape their own process; there is no structured programming or mentorship.
Studios are assigned according to project needs and availability. Depending on the space, features may include dance flooring, mirrors, a small PA system, a piano, or self-recording equipment. The program also includes a single room and meals. Residencies are normally one or two weeks, with longer stays considered case by case, subject to availability.
