Description
The Minnesota Department of Health’s Office of Rural Health and Primary Care administers the Indian Health Grant Program under Minnesota Statute 145A.14. It helps Tribal Nations and nonprofit entities furnish clinical health services to American Indian people who reside off reservations. The program gives preference to organizations created for and specifically focused on serving American Indians.
Supported outpatient or ambulatory care may diagnose or treat illness or injury, or help maintain health. Services can include culturally informed preventive, medical, dental, and mental health care, as well as cultural or traditional practices intended to heal or maintain health. Clinics may be stationary or mobile and may offer one or more eligible services; they need not offer every type.
