The Indiana BioInventory Grant supports bioinventory projects that collect scientific data from protected lands in Indiana. The Indiana Academy of Science runs the initiative in partnership with the Indiana Land Protection Alliance, connecting taxonomic specialists with the state’s land trusts and conservation partners. The Indiana Native Plant Society joined as a supporting partner in 2025.
The program seeks to increase both the quality and quantity of scientific information available about protected lands. Its priorities are to inform land acquisition and land management strategies and monitor long-term impacts on the communities found on these lands. The Academy’s Biodiversity and Natural Areas Committee (BNAC) receives applications and project proposals.
