The Indiana Department of Health Activity-Based Therapy Program, offered through the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (Indiana CTSI), fosters and encourages therapy programs for the treatment of spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries. Its focus is rehabilitative clinical care using activity-based approaches. The program’s scope includes acute management, medical complications, rehabilitative techniques, and neuronal recovery.
The initiative has two distinct funding mechanisms, each focused on a particular injury population. One supports programs delivering activity-based rehabilitative clinical care for people with traumatic spinal cord injury. The other supports programs providing this care for people with traumatic brain injury. Together, these mechanisms support activity-based approaches to clinical rehabilitation for the two populations.
