    Description

Administered by the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (Indiana CTSI), this program supports research on the prevention, treatment, and cure of spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries. Supported research areas include acute management, medical complications, rehabilitative techniques, and neuronal recovery. Projects may involve basic science, clinical research, or early commercialization of new technologies, including diagnostic or therapeutic drugs and devices.

The program encourages collaboration among Indiana-based researchers and with researchers outside Indiana. Priorities include new research directions and demonstrable progress along the translational spectrum, such as moving from in vitro to in vivo research. Early commercialization projects should be reasonably expected to lead to future SBIR/STTR funding or private investment.
