    Description

Indiana Humanities and Indiana Landmarks offer Historic Preservation Education Grants to help Indiana citizens understand and appreciate historic places and properties, particularly the need to preserve and protect them. Funding comes from Indiana Humanities, with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities, and Indiana Landmarks. The program seeks to connect people to their past, strengthen their sense of place, and encourage preservation that revitalizes communities.

Supported formats include workshops, presentations, booklets, brochures, reading and discussion programs, exhibitions, and film documentaries. The program has increasing interest in digital projects—such as online exhibits, webinars, and podcasts—that broaden outreach. It funds education rather than physical preservation work. Past projects have included virtual tours, preservation-trades workshops, heritage trails, student research and videos, and public programs exploring significant local architecture.
