The Individual Artist Fellowships program, administered by the Delaware Division of the Arts in partnership with Mid Atlantic Arts, recognizes and supports Delaware artists demonstrating exceptional artistic quality in the visual, performing, media, folk, and literary arts. The fellowships provide direct funding to help artists purchase equipment, materials, or secure time to focus on creative work. Recipients are required to publicly present their work during the fellowship year, enhancing community engagement and visibility. The program is highly competitive, with applications reviewed anonymously by expert jurors from outside Delaware. Fellowships are offered in three categories—Emerging, Established, and Masters (the latter available in select disciplines on a rotating basis)—and emphasize artistic excellence, significant accomplishments, and sustained activity within Delaware.
