Description
The Virginia Opioid Abatement Authority (OAA) provides Individual Distribution awards to Virginia cities and counties for projects addressing the effects of opioid use. A city or county receives its distribution by submitting an abatement project application for approval by the OAA Grants Committee. Projects may be new efforts or expansions or enhancements of existing work; proposed uses are assessed against award terms, state law and applicable opioid settlement agreements.
Cities and counties that opt in to OAA’s voluntary “Gold Standard” Incentive program may request incentive funds as part of an Individual Distribution application. The program is part of OAA’s administration of opioid settlement funds for efforts to treat, prevent and reduce opioid use disorder and opioid misuse.
