Description
This opportunity, offered by the Foundation Fighting Blindness, provides substantial support for individual investigators pursuing research with the highest potential to advance treatments and cures for inherited retinal degenerative diseases (IRDs) and dry age-related macular degeneration (dAMD). The program targets critical gaps in current knowledge and technology, encouraging innovative, impactful, and feasible research proposals in six priority areas: genetic technologies, restorative therapies, novel medical therapies, clinical structure and function, genetics, and cell/molecular mechanisms of disease. Both basic and translational studies are supported, with a strong emphasis on projects that can ultimately lead to clinical interventions.
