Description
The Mississippi Arts Commission’s Individual Project Grants help artists bring community-oriented projects to life beyond their day-to-day creative practice. The program supports innovation, artistic growth and collaboration between artists and the communities their work serves. Projects may include readings, performances, exhibitions, public art, recordings, workshops and new festivals.
The commission considers a project’s artistic quality, its effect on an artist’s craft or field, the applicant’s ability to carry it out and its impact on Mississippians. Projects can expand access to the arts, share artistic and cultural traditions or build partnerships with community organizations.
