Industrial Park Grants support South Dakota local governments and industrial development organizations with road construction and reconstruction to improve industrial park access and foster economic development.

Funding Amounts: Up to $500,000 per project, reimbursing 80% of eligible construction costs

Description
Industrial Park Grants are administered by the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) as part of its Transportation Economic Development Grants program. The program fosters economic development and enhances community access by supporting new or reconstructed roads and streets serving new industry in industrial parks. Eligible roads may lie within an industrial park, provide primary access alongside it, or connect it to a major route or street. Routine maintenance is not eligible.
SDDOT works with the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) to review whether the proposed industrial development is likely to materialize and whether the access improvements are necessary. The South Dakota Transportation Commission establishes the program’s expenditure authority and approves all awards.
