    Description

The Idaho Workforce Development Council’s Industry Sector Grant supports employers working together to develop new training solutions for Idaho’s workforce challenges. Funded through the Workforce Development Training Fund (WDTF), the program connects education and work-based learning to current and projected employer demand in industries that drive Idaho’s economy. Training must provide transferable, industry-recognized skills that strengthen participants’ long-term employability.

The program seeks to expand access to career-connected opportunities, support wage growth, and retain skilled talent in Idaho. It also encourages effective talent pipeline models that can be replicated across regions and industries. Supported approaches may include classroom instruction, virtual learning, internships, pre-apprenticeships, co-ops, and apprenticeships. Transparent tracking of workforce outcomes is central to demonstrating value and accountability to Idaho taxpayers.
