Indy Arts Council’s Art & Soul 2027 Activation Grants help community arts and cultural organizations compensate Featured Artists for participation in programs, festivals, and venues. The grants connect organizations with Featured Artist alumni and the 2027 cohort, supporting activities that meaningfully incorporate artists’ contributions and reflect their interests, skills, and goals. Art & Soul celebrates Black art and music in Indianapolis through public events featuring visual art, music, dance, and literature.
The program prioritizes clearly described activities that are feasible within the proposed timeline and budget, pay artists fairly, and engage 2027 Featured Artists in work aligned with their goals. Indy Arts Council also promotes funded activities through the Art & Soul 2027 schedule of events and provides marketing assets and tips for co-promotion.
