Description
InnovateMass is Massachusetts Clean Energy Center’s grant and technical support program for growth-stage companies demonstrating new clean energy technologies or innovative combinations of existing technologies. It addresses the funding gap between early angel investment and later venture capital or strategic investment. Projects should validate technology performance, advance commercialization readiness, and demonstrate value to potential customers and investors. Both hardware and software are supported under the same evaluation criteria.
The program prioritizes measurable greenhouse gas reductions or climate adaptation, resilience, and environmental sustainability benefits, alongside Massachusetts economic benefits such as jobs, infrastructure, business growth, and customer savings. MassVentures serves as the technical consultant, providing project management, startup advising, workplan review, and support for performance monitoring and technical challenges.
