The Delaware Department of Education (DDOE) administers the Innovation Grant using reserve funds under the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act, known as Perkins V. The program supports implementation and improvement of secondary Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs of study, with funding priorities aligned to the Perkins Act and Delaware’s State Plan for CTE.
The grant’s three priorities are implementing Delaware state-model CTE Programs of Study, supporting student equity and achievement in college and career coursework, and preparing students for career success while supporting CTE instructors, administrators, and counselors. Awards are competitive, with final approval determined by DDOE. The department may consider geographic distribution, demonstrated recipient readiness, and sustainability plans when making awards.
