Description
The Research Council of Norway supports research-driven innovation that increases market opportunities, generates financial benefits for companies and strengthens Norway’s competitiveness. Projects must contain significant industrial research and/or experimental development, leading to new or substantially improved products, services, manufacturing processes or delivery methods. Funding must trigger R&D that companies could not undertake without support because of its scope and risk.
The call covers environmentally friendly energy, petroleum, maritime activities, transport and CO₂ capture and storage (CCS). Its goals include renewable energy availability, efficient energy use, safe and robust transport, sustainable natural-resource use and industrial restructuring toward a low-emission society. Petroleum projects may demonstrate new technology, and transport projects may pilot solutions. Environmentally friendly energy demonstrations must instead seek funding from Enova.
