Summary: EIT Health supports clinical validation and market preparation for digital and AI-enabled medical devices approaching commercialisation.
Key Information: A commercialising company must lead a consortium of at least two organisations from different countries.
EIT Health’s Innovation Validation Call 2027 supports digital and AI-powered medical technologies ready for real-world clinical validation and approaching market launch. It addresses the funding gap for solutions needing clinical studies and evidence of safety and efficacy before regulatory approval and commercialisation. Supported activities include pivotal clinical studies, regulatory submission such as CE-mark application dossiers, product finalisation, market readiness, and commercial strategy.
The call is delivered through the European Commission-funded EIT Health Business Plan 2026–2028. It provides cascade funding: EIT Health runs the call and awards and pays the funding. Projects should advance eligible medical devices from Innovation Maturity Level (IML) 6 to IML 7, with the potential to reach EU patients and citizens and generate revenue after the funding period.
