This grant supports research and innovation actions focused on advancing Low Voltage Direct Current (LVDC) microgrids in urban contexts. The objective is to improve awareness, acceptance, and deployment of LVDC microgrids, enhancing safety, energy/resource efficiency, integration of renewables and storage, and enabling demand response and energy community models. Projects should develop new design methods and tools, assess life-cycle costs and benefits, and demonstrate both real-life and virtual applications across diverse urban settings. Proposals must also address regulatory barriers, contribute to standardization, and create educational and training materials in collaboration with local academia and stakeholders. Collaboration with the Cities Mission Platform and synergies with other relevant projects are required to maximize impact.
