Scholars’ Working Groups are sponsored by the Center for Jewish History’s Institute for Advanced Research. They provide a forum for scholars at all career stages to share research and ideas around a particular topic or question. The program emphasizes exploration from varied historical, disciplinary, and contextual perspectives, with scholarly exchange serving as the foundation for an interdisciplinary community.
Founded in 2023, the Institute brings together a diverse, international, and interdisciplinary community of scholars. It expands the Center’s fellowship program, established in 2002, which has supported more than 150 fellows from more than 50 national and international universities. Working-group topics span Jewish history and culture, including relations with authorities, magic, music and performance, and technological change.
