    Description

The Institutional Development Award (IDeA) for Clinical & Translational Research (CTR) aims to build biomedical research capacity in states and jurisdictions that have historically received low levels of NIH funding (IDeA states). This opportunity supports two programmatic tracks:

    • CTR-D (Clinical and Translational Research Development): Focuses on workforce development and infrastructure enhancement at health research organizations in IDeA states with limited clinical research capacity.
    • CTR-N (Clinical & Translational Research Network): Supports statewide or multi-state networks of health research organizations to expand infrastructure, develop research workforce, and coordinate clinical research activities across IDeA states.

The program intends to address diseases and health challenges prevalent in IDeA states through enhanced clinical and translational research capabilities.
