Description
The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), part of NIH, administers this limited-competition P30 Center Core Grant opportunity to build clinical and translational (C&T) research capacity in states that historically received low levels of NIH funding. It supports infrastructure, workforce development, and coordinated research addressing diseases and health challenges prevalent in those states. Clinical trials are optional.
The program offers a Development track (CTR-D) for health research organizations with limited clinical research capacity and a Network track (CTR-N) for statewide or multi-state networks expanding existing capacity. Networks may include health research organizations, community clinics, and Practice-Based Research Networks (PBRNs). Applicants must justify their track choice and propose broad capacity-building programs rather than narrowly disease- or population-focused applications.
