The Institutional Development Scheme (IDS) Research Infrastructure Grant aims to strengthen the research capacity of Hong Kong’s local self-financing degree-awarding institutions. The scheme funds the establishment of new, or enhancement of existing, research centres and infrastructure in alignment with each institution’s strategic development plan. Funding supports a broad range of research-enabling activities, from equipment purchases and research materials to the organization of seminars, workshops, conferences, and exchange programmes. The grant is designed to foster institutional research integration, collaboration, and impact, enhancing both academic rigour and the research portfolio of recipient institutions.
