Key Information: Applicants need at least two years’ Society membership and support from a Society Representative or Fellow.
The Physiological Society’s Institutional Engagement Award supports Society Representatives and members hosting events at their own organisations. Eligible activities include physiological teaching symposia, community outreach, internal conferences, seminar series, departmental lectures and workshops, annual forums, and research colloquia with academic speakers, held in person or online. Events may also recruit potential Society members or support Physiology Week, held annually in November.
The award focuses on events with clear aims and measurable potential impact. Activities should promote both physiology and the Society while encouraging engagement. Where relevant, applications should explain public benefits and member inclusivity. Reviewers consider opportunities for membership recruitment or, for public-facing events, reaching underrepresented groups. The Society’s Board of Trustees also has a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in selecting recipients.
