The Institutional Grants Program of the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany supports organizations addressing the social service needs of vulnerable Jewish Nazi victims. Its priorities include homecare and housekeeping, case management, food programs, transportation, health and medical services, emergency assistance, and socialization programs.
The program considers survivors’ needs within each service area, including unmet homecare needs among current clients and people waiting for services. Funding assessments also consider government services, social safety nets, restitution, compensation, and other philanthropic or public resources. Reviews examine the services proposed, organizational experience, reasonable costs, and professional standards. Many projects receive outside professional assessment in addition to staff review.
