    Description

The Tinker Foundation’s Institutional Grants program supports research and advocacy, experimentation, scaling promising interventions, and exchanging knowledge and models. Its goal is large-scale change in policy and practice in Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking Latin America, with an emphasis on funding organizations in the region. Activities may include community engagement, capacity-building, applied research, evaluation, workshops, and conferences.

Democratic Governance focuses on independent, reliable, equitable, and transparent justice systems and access to justice. Education focuses on foundational learning recovery and acceleration, particularly early-primary literacy and numeracy. The Foundation welcomes regional, transnational, and comparative approaches, collaboration among Latin American organizations, and engagement with affected stakeholders. Both new and existing projects may qualify, provided funding advances the work rather than simply covering ongoing operations.
