Description
The Skin of Color Society’s Institutional Research Fellowship Grant supports institution-based research opportunities for early-career physicians investigating dermatologic diseases in skin of color. The program emphasizes conditions needing further scientific investigation, particularly through clinical, translational, and observational or prospective research. It supports researchers with an interest in skin of color dermatology and/or health equity research.
The initiative aims to address unmet dermatologic health needs by increasing the number of investigators who can deliver evidence-based care in communities experiencing disproportionate disease burden. Fellowships also prepare physicians for leadership roles in clinical care, public policy, health services research, and biomedical research. Funding supports the fellow’s salary and benefits rather than general institutional or project expenses.
